the library’s cafe
220708 Tuesday

a place of quietness
as the rule is abided
mind your own business
as everyone else did

i found a place
at the corner
a place non-obstructive
for whoever

a cup of hot cafe latte,
perfect for the cool weather,
sat on the table
golden brown sugar, dropped in later

i thought about the life of mine,
while getting my latte sweetened,
not everything in line,
then it becomes slightly darkened

with a book in hand
ears filled with songs from a band
it's amazing, i find
a blend of a different kind

monstery n ugly movie. ugly as in the creatures lah uh. i must say, nuala n abraham were so cute. hahah. ohh n the part when him n hellboy sang, it was funny.

an upbeat, cute n sweet song that i can't shake outta my head. =)

Can't Smile Without You
Barry Manilow

You know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm findin' it hard to do anything

You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm goin' through
I just can't smile without you

You came along just like a song
And brightened my day
Who'da believed that you were part of a dream?
Now it all seems light years away

And now you know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm findin' it hard to do anything

You see, I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm goin' through
I just can't smile without you

Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find
Well I'm finding it hard leavin' your love behind me

And you see I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm findin' it hard to do anything

You see I feel glad when you're glad
I feel sad when you're sad
If you only knew what I'm goin' through
I just can't smile without you...

Libra - July 22, 2008

Take this day to lighten up, dear Libra, and not be so concerned about life's deeply intense, emotional issues. This is the time to put those things aside and remember that our purpose here on Earth is to be happy. Perhaps you find yourself in heated discussions with people about what exactly happiness is. Philosophical debates may result, and you will delight in sharing stories and comparing notes with others in order to really pinpoint what it is that you are searching for in this life, and how you plan on getting it.

(so.. what eactly, is happiness?)

How to Drink Alone
There’s an art to drinking alone. Appreciate its beauty with these tenets of solo drinking.

• Don’t use it as a warm-up. It’s a prelude to nothing. Drinking alone must be an event unto itself. It’s never about getting sloppy, or lucky, or even happy. Beginning and end, make it a choice. A gift, not an escape. It’s about raising your awareness, not dulling it. Be neat, small of affect, businesslike.

• Start in the afternoon. 2:30 is universally a good time, since the bar will be empty, the bartender busy stocking the coolers, wiping down bottles.

• Forget bar chatter, since it’s about drifting, forgetting, passing time without noticing. Instead, quietly pay attention.

• Drink liquor — whiskey.

• Get a beer back, if you must. Gin is acceptable too, but don’t put anything sweet in it.

• Ignore the television.

• Listen a little. Enjoy the muffled aural measures of a bar waking up. Watch the door or the window instead. Draw connections to the world outside, even as it recedes slightly from perception. Notice the angles of light, the pulse of the traffic, even the evolution of customers who drift in as the day twists down to its nub.

• Read a paper, sure. A book is good too. Crack the spine and lay it flat on the bar. Read, don’t pretend to read.

• Don’t eat. Drinking alone is not about buffalo wings.

• Look up often.

• Jukeboxes are an acceptable diversion, though don’t ever select Cat Stevens when drinking alone.

• If a friend happens in, do not demur. Instead, take it as an irrefutable signal that the meditative event of drinking alone is over. You aren’t alone anymore. Buy him a drink and, after a reasonable juncture, leave. Give him what you came in for. A little solitude, with liquor. There’s no shame in it.

just for laughs..

people whom just doesn't understand english well:

- she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice box because it said 'concentrate.'
- when he missed the 44 bus, he took the 22 bus twice instead.
- when he took you to the airport and saw a sign that said 'Airport Left' he turned around and went home.

here she is:

you came along
just like a song
and brightened
my day
who'da believed
that you were
part of a dream
now it all seems
light years away
