overall the food was awesome. from appetizers to soups to main courses. dessert wasnt that good though, still preferred those down at the bar & billard room. raffles creamery was still as great. =DD

just the other day, i was looking through to see what books i have.
there's this one book, my favorite one,
tuesdays with morrie by mitch albom.
it was a great book, very touching, truly inspiring.
then it struck my mind that maybe i could go see how this morrie looked like.
and so, i went to youtube.
ted koppel actually interviewed morrie schwartz sometime before his death.

i think everyone should read the book or watch the interview.
morrie schwartz is generous enough to share what he has learnt in life,

sarah leads quite a boring life.
oh wells.

anyways, last week, boss gave us a cny lunch treat and a ride in his blue(i think) mini cooper!

sakuraya restaurant at village centre/plaza.
and as usual i ordered my all-time fav, kanpyo maki!
too bad they didnt have soft shell crabs.
jap version of lo hei was gd.
avocado eel sushi and salmon sashimi were as delicious as they looked.
&& the salmon slices were really generous, thick enough to feel the chew.
(cla, u'd definitely love this!)
but the swordfish sashimi was too fishy for me.
didnt dare to try the yellowtail and tuna sashimi though.
prolly cus they dont look appealing to me. hah!

dragonfruit chill was something new to me so i decided to try it. it's kinda sweet with a tinge of sourness. && the xiao long bao at the asian kitchen's good! even the cereal fried rice and thai style toufu were nice. must try must try! heh heh.

choya, as nice as the last time i drank it. i ate the plum too. hahahah.

sandfly, housefly and i simply love this cereal! =D

seems interesting enough for me to buy it. hope it doesnt disappoint me.

this post shall wrap up what i've watched recently in '08. =)

my girl and i. a terribly sad movie that touches your heart with the feel of a love that isn't fortunate. watch it and you'll understand why.

sad movie. they each have a sad story to tell in this movie. love isn't easy at all. and not all love are happy. i couldn't watch the whole show though. but well, i caught most of it.

not a movie to watch if you've got a weak heart. it's not the gruesome scenes that are interesting, it's the will to fight death through clues and signs.

seems like the movie series is getting more gruesome and the will to live becomes much more challenging. but in the end..

sangdoo let's go to school. intially, u may think that this romantic comedy's not the perfect kind. but as the characters bring you into their life, you'll feel that life's not perfect after all. && love is one thing you cannot avoid, it just comes to you when it feels like it.

kko kko singe tour reality series. (just go to youtube to search for it.) if u're single and watching this, u'd so wana get into a r/s. it's about choice and chance. take it or leave it. bet it or regret. && the bokk bokk jokk game is really addictive. heh heh. =D

a teenage drama. vampires of great resistance. one of a kind love between a vampire and human and his courage to protect her. should have more action scenes though.

a love that is strong enough to travel through heaven, earth and hell. his persistence to see her again even after death.

R is he responsible, E is equality, A is he an adult, L is he loving. who would you choose; one who is a spark or one whom you think you truly love? do you yearn for real love or do you earn it?

look beside you carefully, have you not realize that true love is actually just a step away? would you just give up or fight for it?

sometimes it's really good to take a walk alone. to think through a million things that crossed ur mind. it's pretty amazing sometimes; u think so deep into something, then an hour or so later, u dont really get back what u have thought.

during that pretty long walk, all i could think of is the day we met; which was coming to a year ago. the heart-wrenching melody of my love by jung chul kept replaying in my ears through my earpieces while my toes hurt as i take one step after another.

if i could turn back time, i would turn it back to the 31st of dec a million times, just to see ur face and feel the warmth in ur handshake. i know it seems meaningless and a waste of time to hold on to that day. but that was the day i felt a special umm emotion i never felt before. it's astonishing, how this emotion can last for so long and sinking deeper as the days passed.

bonjour!

had solidworks training the week before. it wasnt very satisfying. tsk.

aww i miss the primary-colored studio. (i was on the road just outside ngeeann.)

the largest crab claw i've ever seen and eaten! hahahh. get it at no signboard seafood at geylang!

baked potato. yumm! the potato itself was sweet, with a tinge of salty-ness from the hammy-mayo.

sweet cereal but i feel it's a tad too hard. really crunchy though.

celebrated lantern festival with the usual. free entry to the alumni dinner. hah! vip service somemore! woots~ but.. richard the oldman wasnt there. =(

clara n i decided to get down to barstop for a drink, or two. man how time flies. i was there like last yr, on my birthday.

clara's mojito was refreshing but too lime-y. barman was very fruity, tasted like candy. smells like one too. hahah.
my boston beach party's had quite a number of liquer mixed it it but i like. and barstop wine cooler's somewhat light and it sparkles, in the mouth. hahah.

the place's rather laidback but with a classic touch. the drinks were gd and are reasonably priced. drinks are half-priced at happy hr from 5pm-8pm (we missed it though. =( but i think happy hr is from 5pm-9pm on fridays.) so do visit yah. it's located at 8 devonshire road. =)

spent most of our time night cycling. im beginning to enjoy cycling. heh heh. and yeah, we got to watch the sunrise. but frankly, sunset's more beautiful.

suga, the quiet one. she wriggled through my neighbour's gate once, to come into my place and look for boyboy (he's lost now). hahah.

fried calamari is good. chocolate milkshake not bad. mushroom&sausage aglio olio's good. and is price-worthy.

sweet-tasting and light wine. girls will like it i guess.

another night at raffleshotel. i left (i had plans. heh heh.) after the girls had their princess-y dine-in while the adults had steak down at the restaurant. the suite has beautiful orchids, very cold aircons, sweet seedless grapes, classy bathroom. hahahah. service and food were great also.

and so i met geigao scallop at clarke quay.
went into the arena after much walking.
drinks werent diluted.
music was good, there was a live band from US.
her friend, dennis, came to drive us back thereafter.
was a really umm fulfilling (it's the drinks. hahahah.) night?

a 3hr lecture by mr bbc. apparently, geigao scallop's lecturer loves bbc ALOT. hahahah. studying business is really a bore to me, thankfully im not the one studying it. and her friends, kelvin the barney and nigel the caitou are quite humorous. oh and with photoshop, i did a really bad thing to caitou's face, which im not gonna post. =p barney and his ideas. hmph!
clara shaz, SIM's tomyum fish soup isnt as spicy anymore. =(

playing cluedo and monopoly with these two horses was just so fun lah. hahahhah.

royce' nama champagne is mmmm. but this rum-raisin chocolate is real yummy too. do try it yah! im so in love with it. rum, my fav, together with chocolate, my other fav. what a fantastic combination. woots~

ham brought me to this really classy yet laidback bar/restaurant at arab st called blue jaz.
food&drinks were yummy at reasonably worthy prices.
and ham, the ambience was romantic enough lah. really.

I've been given the pleasure of writing an entry, and i really don't wish to sound too deep or cleverly shallow. I guess, just a depiction of how i perceive a week, would be an interesting read.

Like any other week, i try very hard to get by. Constantly bombarded by issues of the mind and problems sustained from work. Sometimes i think I'm a scribe, living in a post-modern world. Where there's just too much thought, and too little sharing. Even writing a blog, seems somewhat vacant. With voyeuristic intentions, we lay down our lives, bit by bit, word for word.

Oops, there i go again, trying to sound clever. You know, i honestly think, intelligence is given, while trying too hard makes everything a sham.

Back on track, my week has yet to end, but time really seems to go by faster now. I often wonder, if it's because as i get older, the things that transpire around me, seem to effect me less, thus making me insensitive to the passing of much important events. I think, i spend a large portion of a week, reminiscing about the past. I've been told it's terribly unhealthy to constantly miss or recall events from before.

Trying not to live in the past, now that's difficult. I tend to look back at good times, at how we met certain people and how we used to believe certain things. Youthful pride, rash loving and willful desire. Now as i live in the present. I sorely feel, how much more meaning my past gave to my future.

Of course, my week is hardly that deep. I do have fun of course. I have had my moments of good conversations and meaningful glances. I'm sorry if i sound vague, but I have a habit of not being spot-on. Sadly, that's the problem with us all. We tend to savor too much into the moment, till we get so bored with our actual intention.

Well, that's humanity for you, drastic extremes. We are either too good, or - too bad.

Well, half-way into my week. I do realize my table is still cluttered. Discovered recordings of Damien rice with Lisa. Listened to The Professor a million times. Realized that we have to take things in our stride, and give love to receive it back. It's really ok to be overly mushy, and honestly, being on the safe-side works most of the time. And did tons of drawings and personal writings. Which in short, is nothing less, then a mess.

Don't get me started on mess. You probably can't stomach, how i can derive philosophy from clutter.

Basically, if you could not make head or tail of my writing, I'm well known for creating gibberish. (actually on a regular basis)

If i had any goals this week, it would probably be to get some real rest. I fail to mention, being in my prime, i tend to burn myself out. Sadly, by thinking so much.

So, i hope you enjoyed reading a rather short posting, which i tried terribly hard to sound interesting. You know, with all the effort in trying to emphasize personal believes and bits of me trying to sound clever. I do hope i don't seem like a sham, because, i hardly think i have given intelligence.

To end it all, i hope everybody has a thought-provoking week, and if there should be a shortage of anything, i dearly hope it's a lack of heart-breaking relationships, money-wasting trips and fake friendships.

A gift, not an escape. It’s about raising your awareness, not dulling it. Be neat, small of affect, businesslike.

• Start in the afternoon. 2:30 is universally a good time, since the bar will be empty, the bartender busy stocking the coolers, wiping down bottles.

• Forget bar chatter, since it’s about drifting, forgetting, passing time without noticing. Instead, quietly pay attention.

• Drink liquor — whiskey.

• Get a beer back, if you must. Gin is acceptable too, but don’t put anything sweet in it.

• Ignore the television.

• Listen a little. Enjoy the muffled aural measures of a bar waking up. Watch the door or the window instead. Draw connections to the world outside, even as it recedes slightly from perception. Notice the angles of light, the pulse of the traffic, even the evolution of customers who drift in as the day twists down to its nub.
